Project Engineer
Position Summary
A+E is seeking a project engineer with 5-10 years of experience in water resource engineering planning and design. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager/Senior Engineer with solutions for complex engineering problems with minimum oversight and guidance. It is expected that this individual will have contact with clients and command a comprehensive understanding of projects on which they are working. Responsibilities may include preparation of feasibility and preliminary engineering reports for water, wastewater, and stormwater projects, preparation of asset management plans, final design contract documents, permitting, hydraulic analysis for water systems, H&H analysis for stormwater systems, and other related tasks.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Education and Experience
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field
• Vermont PE or PE Track, preferred.
• Vermont Municipal Engineering Experience, preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience
• Experience with any or all of the following, preferred: WaterCAD, HydroCAD, BioWin, AutoCAD, GIS.
Assistant Construction Field Technician
Position Summary
Assistant field representative to support construction observation and documentation for water resource infrastructure projects. This position serves as a developmental pathway toward becoming an on-site Resident Project Representative (RPRs), offering a recent graduate or early-career professional the opportunity to build the technical knowledge, field judgement, and documentation skills required to independently represent the firm on active construction sites. This position is seasonal (except as established at hire), hourly/non-exempt, benefits dependent upon position.
Salary Range: $60,000 – $75,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Education and Experience
• Associates Degree minimum in Civil Engineering technology, Construction Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites across Vermont
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and written communication ability
• Ability to work both independently in the field and collaboratively with project teams
CAD/Survey Technician
Position Summary
A+E is seeking a CAD/Survey/GIS Technician with 2-5 years of experience in engineering planning, design, and/or construction. The successful applicant should be technically proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D, field and survey skills, and/or GIS. The applicant will be responsible for performing computer aid design (CAD), survey, GIS, and other tasks for various water, wastewater, stormwater, and civil/site projects under direction by Project Engineer/Manager. Effective communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are required. Strong computer skills including AutoCAD Civil3D (latest version), Microsoft applications, and other technical software are necessary. GIS experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
Salary Range: $65,000 – $80,000, based on experience and qualifications.
Education and Experience
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Engineering Experience, preferred.
• 2-5 Years of Experience
• Experience with AutoCAD, Survey, and/or GIS
