Draft CSO Control Policy

The draft CSO Control Policy was issued on September 30, 2015. Communities should expect that Vermont DEC will be establishing a more aggressive approach to CSO control and elimination to meet Vermont water quality standards. Initially, this will be done through 1272 Orders until renewed NPDES permits are issued. Compliance schedules will be the main tool for achieving the identified actions. The next step for communities will be to reevaluate the design storm criteria to account for climate change driven variations in rain events in Vermont.
