A+E provided final design specifications and plans for rehabilitation of the stormwater practice located in the Tanglewood neighborhood of the Town of St. Albans. This stormwater system improvement project was located in a suburban neighborhood and outlets to the Rugg Brook. The pre-existing practice was built in the 1990’s and was not compliant with current stormwater design standards.
The purpose of the project was to retrofit the existing stormwater treatment practice (STP) to meet current design standards dictated by the Vermont Stormwater Management Manual for stormwater treatment. A new gravel wetland was designed to treat approximately 2.6 acres of impervious surface within the existing development and manage the Water Quality Volume and Channel Protection Volume. Construction started in late fall of 2024 and was completed in the summer of 2025.
